Tuesday, April 15th, 2008An online friend of mine lost someone close. I’m not going into the details as i know all about that – not sure about her details, but it’s hard.
In my case? We were summoned into the ICU (intensive care unit) and the head Doctor explained what the chances of recovery were and all that. Unfortunately i’d seen my Dad a few days before and accused the staff of killing him already and i ran out upset…..but anyway.
So we went in and they chatted to all of us and advised us to switch off the life support machine. I’d already been advised of this earlier as my Mum asked me to come in earlier. When all the family was there and the Doc was telling us….i broke down….and the weird thing was…the song on the radio was the Queen song…”i want to break free”….weird considering the life support was about to be switched off.
Loss is hard.
Dealing with it is harder, and there’s no-one that can tell you how you should deal with it. It’s personal. Fucking personal.
People will offer support. People will offer suggestions. Try not to dismiss them, although it’s difficult. Just nod. Ensure you don’t sign anything until you get yourself sober – sober in thoughts, mind and body. And even then, take some time off.

Saturday, April 5th, 2008We had a massive storm come through this week. Tail end of a dead Cyclone from Western Australia. One of my very good friends has been without power since Wednesday….and yeah…this IS 2008.
Tasmania got worse weather, although being from Victoria i didnt hear too much about on free to air TV, but the cable channels reported it…175km/h winds….equivalent to a category 3 Cyclone. Fek!
Anyway….i’ve been ill due to an infected tooth…and it’s the one i needed a root canal on…which i got done Friday which is now yesterday. I thought it was a different tooth, but what do i know!
And Loved.com has been renewed until 2013. A nice price was negotiated for the renewal. And if you want it? yep..see the post below about $USD5million as the sale price or $AUD5 million…whatever is more for me. This expiry date will give me time to come up with my “plan B” for Loved.com.
