I’ve been with Bluehost.com for 4 years.

They have looked after Loved.com in terms of hosting. I am very happy with them. And once i get my finances sorted we’ll be here for another few years.

well yesterday now.

My Ensoniq Fizmo Synthesizer Keyboard. A lovely person, Jen, purchased it. She’s studying music, and doing some movie soundtracks, in a band etc etc. As i mentioned to Jen, she’ll love this synth that i had bought brand new from Mannys at Johnstone St Collingwood. That shop/store isn’t there anymore apparently.

It is weird this sale. It’s gone to a damn good home, mind you, but as i didn’t want to sell it, like some more stuff i think i’ll have to sell, it’s like losing a friend.

So yeah, as i jokingly said, i’ll shed a tear, and maybe buy it back one day!

Back In Black

I’m better now. So, aaaah i was out ‘n about. No real plans. Go up to Broken Hill….go to Lake Eyre from there. Sounded ok. Got me new exhaust system too. Sounds good. More economy…ticks all the boxes. Sounds like a V8 now tho….

Driving along. Meeting nice people. Staying at various places. And i get a call. I have to go back to Melbourne. The interview i had been waiting 8 months for.

An informal interview by the way. Not a real job interview. It went ok. I’ll hear soon. ??? And i am back in the cold of Melbourne. Typing this, i see i need to go back up to where i was gonna go…Broken Hill…Woomera, Coober Pedy.

Got me mail on hold til Sept 19. I think i’ll go pick that up….pay the bills….hold it again.

An Outback Adventure

i’m off into the blue…into the dust, into the real Australia.

I’m going to visit Lake Eyre via Broken Hill. I’ve always wanted to visit Broken Hill and Silverton. Should be good. Lake Eyre still has water in it and all the bird life….so. That should be good to see.

i’ll post anything of note here

Umbrella Etiquette

Walking home in the rain the other night with my brolly (umbrella) up i noticed, not for the first time, that people react well with multiple umbrellas coming towards them, myself included.

If you’re on the left side of the footpath (USA ppl call it the sidewalk) then people move their umbrellas to the left to avoid collisions. And if you’re on the right side, same.

But, now we have txt’ers with umbrellas.
Txt’ers are dangerous anyway in that they just walk straight ahead, not necessarily in a straight line and expect everyone to avoid them. Not looking at anyone or anything .Mostly women. But not always.

Give the txt’ers an umbrella and it’s eye-poking frenetism and almost like watching athletes (ie the general public) perform circus-like feats of umbrella avoidance techniques. An umbrella in the eye is a possibility when confronting walking txt’ers.

And then of course you have the VERY TALL PERSON walking towards you and so what to do? You try and lift your umbrella so as not to poke out their eyes a la the female txt’er. Usually it works. So that’s ok.

And then. The ultimate nemesis.

The guy with the golf umbrella.
That huge umbrella.
Shielding homeless people from the wind and rain while they stand at that pedestrian crossing.
Shielding everyone from the wind and rain actually. But then you cross….with your “normal” umbrella…and they are coming towards you!

What do you do?

Well they usually raise their umbrella higher than yours, as is the etiquette.

But somethimes they dont, so yours will hit theirs and you just sneer.

That’s it!
