I sold an old friend today

Monday, December 21st, 2009

well yesterday now.

My Ensoniq Fizmo Synthesizer Keyboard. A lovely person, Jen, purchased it. She’s studying music, and doing some movie soundtracks, in a band etc etc. As i mentioned to Jen, she’ll love this synth that i had bought brand new from Mannys at Johnstone St Collingwood. That shop/store isn’t there anymore apparently.

It is weird this sale. It’s gone to a damn good home, mind you, but as i didn’t want to sell it, like some more stuff i think i’ll have to sell, it’s like losing a friend.

So yeah, as i jokingly said, i’ll shed a tear, and maybe buy it back one day!

Thanks Jen. You are a star!

Delectable Collectibles

Friday, February 1st, 2008

i acquired two gems in the last few weeks from Missing Link Records….man i can’t believe how long i’ve been shopping there.

The first one is The Brit Box and the second is Punk 1977 – 2007.

The Brit Box is a little cheezy in that it has a switch on the back and it lights up these LEDs at the top of a red phone box. Nice!. And you won’t be disappointed by the collection on the 4 CDs that comprise this selection.

The Punk release is 3 CDs which has early releases, classics and rarities.

Both compilations are worth the effort in finding and are good additions to any collectors’ compilations.

Kylie Kylie Kylie

Monday, October 15th, 2007

wow…the new song from Kylie Minogue is well…pretty cool, hence this post.

I hope that it does well,…all of the sites i’d hoped to glean some info about the new CD/album…well they all are just hoping to make money from photos/pictures that they make fromĀ  the, i guess occasional appeareances of the people invited and i guess on camera.

And well even on the channels broadcast via FoxTel….Kylie shone through…

What can i say

Nirvana

Monday, September 17th, 2007

I’ve just watched yet another expose on Kurt Cobain and of course Courtney Love is mentioned. How can they blame her??

Fuck off.. Who knows what happened there. Yes i was disappointed that that he chose to end his life…..and yes i had all the Nirvana CDs and had Holes’ CDs but hey….i think the documentary that i saw shows how overwhelming fame and stardom can become.

No one can know for sure, but they had people that were interviewed that were addicts and ex-addicts and well the Exodus people were there…so who knows?

RRR – Subscriber Radio

Friday, September 7th, 2007

I renewed my subscription to RRR yesterday. It’s a good cause and i was listening to Nicky (‘scuse speeling) on the Graveyard Shift at the time. She plays a good selection of tracks. If you are up late/early for some reason then tune in to the Graveyard Shift on 102.7 FM. Otherwise, jsut tune in! They play great music. No commercials (ads) except for their own sponsors of course.
