An Outback Adventure

I’m going to visit Lake Eyre via Broken Hill. I’ve always wanted to visit Broken Hill and Silverton. Should be good. Lake Eyre still has water in it and all the bird life….so. That should be good to see.

Sydney Morning Herald Journalist Blames the Greens Party for the bushfire deaths
Friday, February 13th, 2009Yeah. Unbelievable. Someone calling herself Miranda Devine has published this article blaming the Australian Political Party colloquially called “The Greens” for the deaths as a result of the bushfires (aka wildfires) in the Australian State of Victoria.
This outlandish statement has yet to be refuted by any representative of any party, but it’s likely that the so called “journalist” is just trying to make a name for herself.
This type of reporting is not what the Bushfire Appeals need.
I personally donated $500 and am donating my weekends to help where possible.

Friday, September 12th, 2008From afar. I was awake. Watching on Cable TV. Coz i was up. Awake. Nornal. The TV was loud, as per normal…i was doing internet “shit” and things were “normal”.
i’m about to go to bed…a breaking broadcast comes through….for some reason, it was on CNN while i was doin what i was doin…..
i’ll never forget it…..and sorry for typing it here…i saw the second plane hit the World Trade Centre……

what can i say. Nothing really. And i’m sorry for that.
i lost my job not long after that, sold my beautiful Monaro…..that i had had for 13 years…went onto unemployment benefits……
but, hey, i am in Australia, far far far away.., but still impacted…friends and families over there…
i pray for you. Be you Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, etc…i apologise if i missed your religion here, but i know that you know that life is sacrosanct.

On the Road Again
Saturday, August 30th, 2008I went for a drive to one of my favourite hiking spots. It is bitterly cold and i decided not to camp overnight, but went hiking anyway.
It’s so good to get away sometimes, given the stresses of life. Hopefully i’ll have all that sorted out by the end of next week and i can move forward again.
